You may have read that peppermint oil can work wonders for your IBS, well this post hopefully will shed some light on it for you…

Peppermint is a carminative herb which contains the active constituents of menthol and menthone.

It has antiseptic and painkilling properties, plus it can relieve spasms in your intestinal tract and helps to prevent and relieve intestinal wind… all symptoms of IBS!

How Much?

So, how much peppermint oil should you take to help relieve your IBS symptoms?

Well, if you drink peppermint tea regularly throughout the day this should help with your mild symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

But, for more severe symptoms, you will need to take enteric-coated peppermint oil capsules up to three times a day between meals.

Safe!

Now, peppermint oil is generally considered safe to take by those in the know…

But some people have reported a burning sensation in the back passage due to the strong essential oils not being absorbed properly and gastrointestinal upset!

You have been warned!

OK, to sum up then… peppermint oil is a safe carminative herb which can help to relieve your IBS symptoms of pain, wind and intestinal spasms!

So what can you do to stop yourself from saying “excuse me” all the time in public?

Excuse Me!

First you need to eliminate those IBS trigger foods which can cause wind from your diet…

So we are talking about foods such as cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli and Brussels sprouts… I think you get the idea!

Oh and cut out carbonated beverages… even fizzy water, just keep to still!

OK, now are the any supplements which you can take to help reduce your wind?

You Bet Ya!

There’s peppermint oil capsules, extract of artichoke, chamomile and even probiotics will help!

These supplements will also help with other IBS symptoms such as pain, intestinal spasms and diarrhea.

OK folks… so to help reduce your IBS wind, in short you need to eliminate wind producing IBS trigger foods from your diet, don’t drink carbonated beverages and take supplements such as extract of artichoke and peppermint oil capsules!

Well, I personally like artichoke extract, it can improve your IBS symptoms of wind, bloating, abdominal pain, indigestion and constipation… by up to 71%!

Minty!

Peppermint oil is another good herbal remedy for IBS…

It’s a safe carminative herb which can help to relieve your IBS symptoms of pain, wind and intestinal spasms!

Another carminative herb which I think is good for IBS is… chamomile!

Tea Anyone!

Chamomile has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and muscle relaxant properties which can help to relieve your wind, intestinal spasms and cramping… all symptoms of IBS!

You can take it as a tea or as a supplement… whichever takes you fancy!

The F Word - Fibre!

Have you heard of psyllium?

Well, psyllium is great at treating your IBS symptoms of constipation and diarrhea due to it being high in fibre and mucilage…

It’s definitely worth a try… especially if you suffer from IBS-D!

So there you have it, my favourite herbal remedies for IBS… psyllium, chamomile, peppermint and artichoke!

This post about ”Hypnotherapy For Irritable Bowel Syndrome” has been taken from my ”IBS Step By Step” e-book… I hope you find it useful!

I know… I’m a nutritional therapist, why am I talking about IBS hypnotherapy for?

Well, its quiet simple… it works!

In fact, it works so well that I really do swear by it… its one of my secret weapons that I always recommend to IBS sufferers to do.

I have undergone hypnotherapy myself to help reduce my own IBS symptoms and I can say from personal experience… it works!

I really do recommend you try it.

So, What Is IBS Hypnotherapy

Now, you may be aware of stage hypnotism and may be thinking that hypnotherapy is the same…

Well, it’s not quiet the same, there is no click of the fingers and you are remarkably cured of your IBS symptoms… it takes a little more work than that!

It is based on the same methodology of targeting your sub-conscious, but you will not start to cluck and peck the ground when someone mentions the word “chicken” whilst clicking their fingers!

IBS hypnotherapy or hypnosis is a gentle and gradual process which helps to reduce your IBS symptoms and reprograms your mind to pre-IBS days. It is used a lot in the UK to help IBS sufferers reduce their symptoms.

IBS hypnotherapy has undergone a lot of clinical studies which have reported some very positive results.

It’s claimed that IBS hypnotherapy can reduce IBS symptoms by up to 90%!

Now, that percentage is impressive and I can vouch for it too!

Because, now after I have completed my IBS hypnotherapy, I can honestly tell you that my IBS symptoms have virtually disappeared.

Plus, I can even eat certain foods which I considered as my IBS trigger foods!

How To Undergo IBS Hypnotherapy

As far as I’m aware, there are two routes in which you can go down when it comes to IBS hypnotherapy… maybe three if you want to consider self-hypnosis!

The first and probably the best, is to visit a local qualified hypnotherapist who specialises in IBS hypnotherapy.

Now, as you can imagine, qualified IBS hypnotherapist are a bit thin on the ground, especially if you don’t live in a big city.

So, you may find it a bit difficult to find a good one…

My advice is to ask around… ask friends, family and work colleges.

Try visiting IBS forums on the internet and ask if anyone can recommend a good one in your local area.

If this fails, there is always the second route in which you can go down… and this is the route which I took, so it does work!

You can buy audio IBS hypnotherapy programs from the internet and from specialist stores, and listen to them in the comfort of your own home and at a time which suits you.

I used an IBS hypnotherapy audio program from a famous English hypnotherapist who specialises in this area.

Its quiet easy to get your hands on this audio program as it is sold on all Amazon’s websites… so, there is no excuse not to try IBS hypnotherapy out is there!

My IBS Hypnotherapy Experience!

The IBS hypnotherapy program which I used lasted for about three months, it consisted of a method which progressively builds on each hypnotherapy session you do.

It’s quiet simple to do, each hypnotherapy session last about half an hour and all you do is relax and listen to it in a quiet place.

You follow a schedule which comes with the audio program, you typically have to listening to an audio session once per day… but, you do get rest days, so it doesn’t really get too tiresome!

In fact, I started to really enjoy listening to the sessions and I looked forward to them each day.

I found listening to them very relaxing and I felt very calm after each session.

So, how did the IBS hypnotherapy help me?

Well at first I didn’t see much change… but then, it is suppose to be a slow and gentle method!

As I advanced through the sessions, my IBS symptoms become less and less.

And, another strange thing that I noticed was that my attitude changed, I felt more and more content and I wasn’t really thinking of my IBS as a problem anymore… strange really!

Now, it has been some time since my last IBS hypnotherapy session and today I can safely say that I hardly suffer from IBS symptoms anymore!

I don’t think this is all down to IBS hypnotherapy though, but a combination of three things…

Eating the correct diet, taking certain supplements and of course… the hypnotherapy sessions.

I have included IBS hypnotherapy as a vital part of this e-book, because I firmly believe that it’s one part of the jigsaw which has resulting in me hardly suffering from IBS symptoms anymore.

It has worked for me, so it can work for you too!

If you are serious in wanting to beat your IBS problems naturally, then I strongly recommend you give IBS hypnotherapy a go.

There’s no problem in using IBS hypnotherapy whilst implementing other recommendations of this e-book… in fact, I recommend you do exactly that!
